General Nursing and Midwifery is a three-year undergraduate course, General Nursing Midwifery deals with the care of individuals, families, and communities to promote, restore, and maintain their health and well-being. The course is designed to prepare the student for a career in nursing. GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery is a three-year undergraduate course that trains an individual in taking care of patients, families, and communities for their health promotion and also deals with the restoration of ill health. The course curriculum is designed in such a way that it covers all the aspects of nursing care. The General Nursing and Midwifery course is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). After the completion of this course, one can take up a career in nursing.
The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program is open to all Indian nationals who have completed their higher secondary education. The minimum age limit for admission is 17 years and there is no upper age limit. Candidates must have passed their higher secondary examination with Science, Arts, Commerce or General stream, with a minimum of 45% marks (40% in the case of candidates belonging to reserved categories).
